Minimum System Requirements for Devices

IOS (Apple)

Minimum version: IOS 15

For iOS devices, AirPOS supports tablets running at least iOS 15. While future updates to iOS may eventually make this version outdated, it remains sufficient for now. If your tablet has iOS 15, you can download and effectively use the AirPOS app for your point of sale needs.

For the best experience and long-term usability, we highly recommend using tablets that run iOS 17 or higher. Tablets capable of supporting the latest iOS versions are less likely to become outdated. Additionally, using the most current iOS ensures that you have access to the latest security updates from Apple, which are crucial for keeping your data secure and protected.

Android

Minimum version: Android tablet 8+ running 64-bit OS

For Android devices, AirPOS supports tablets running Android 8 or higher with a 64-bit operating system. Please note that this is quite an old version of Android so future Android updates may eventually make this version obsolete however it is currently adequate. If your tablet meets these specifications, you can successfully download and use the AirPOS app for your point of sale requirements.

Your tablet must also be running 64-bit OS otherwise you will not be able to download AirPOS from the Google play store. You can check if your tablet is 64-bit by downloading the free 64Bit Checker app on the Google Play Store.

Tablets capable of supporting the latest Android versions are less likely to become outdated. Additionally, using the most current Android operating system ensures that you have access to the latest security updates, which are crucial for keeping your data secure and protected.

Windows

Minimum version: 10

For Windows devices, AirPOS supports PCs running at least Windows 10. Although future updates to Windows may eventually make this version obsolete, it currently provides sufficient functionality. If your PC is equipped with Windows 10, you can download and effectively use the AirPOS app for your point of sale needs.

For an optimal experience, we recommend using PCs that run Windows 10 or higher for AirPOS. Devices operating on Windows 10 or newer versions will ensure you benefit from the latest features and security updates.

Touchscreen Compatibility

While not required, incorporating a touchscreen can significantly improve your experience with the AirPOS system. Touchscreens offer a more interactive and direct method of managing the POS interface, making transactions faster and reducing the learning curve for new users. This can be particularly advantageous in busy retail environments where speed and efficiency are crucial.
